Today my girlfriend asked me to drive her home from college as she was sick. I used her moms car. When coming home on the arterial we were at a red light and I was getting ready to get in the right lane when the light turned green the SUV in front of me began to go then stopped suddenly, (still don't know why) As I was still crossing into the other lane the corner of my front bumper bumped her fender corner. I noticed she stopped and was on her phone so I backed up and parked behind her assuming she just wanted to make sure it was ok. Her tail lights were fine, she drove Subaru SUV so she had a pretty solid buffer there really wasn't even a scuff but a small red reflector on the bottom of the bumper that received a small crack (got a pic close up but can't see it more than a couple inches away. My headlight just has small scuff we werent worried, in NYS you don't generally call unless the damage is over 1000 but she insisted on calling the police. I kept asking if she'd like to just exchange insurance info but she said no (stubborn middle aged probably for insurance) The cops kept telling her we could just exchange info but she wanted report. Anyways, we sat there for about an hour and eventually just got the accident report and I got a following too closely ticket. Do you know how much something like this would cost in NYS roughly and if it would add points on my license. (Cant have pts for work ) Also how will insurance be affected?

Ok first order of business I know how the whole health care issue is being made into this big complicated monstrosity. First let me say that my question is not based on politics I'm not representing democrats or republicans as a matter of fact politics and money is what is frustrating me with this entire health care issue. The next issue I have, Is it wise to put health care interests in the hands of for profit enterprise. Now this is not an attack on health insurance companies but it is a question to the average person. I have read countless stories of people who thought they had good insurance for years all of the sudden they get sick the insurance pays the lowest possible cost and then cancels their coverage. Or here is another example, former health insurance employees tell of how draconian the companies are that they have worked for when it comes paying for coverage they would rather cancel people's policy. I am forced to wonder how long will it be before doctor's and nurses will be required to have an M.B.A. as a prerequisite for practicing medicine. I am all for free enterprise but something just does not sound right when you have an entire industry based on the soaring cost of healthcare and people's inability to pay for it. Seems that you are at the mercy of your insurance company at the time that you need them most. It seems that access to healthcare has been debated and put on the back burner for over 50 years combined with the fact that the people making the decisions regarding healthcare access rarely have to concern themselves with access to healthcare for themselves or their families, I'm just wondering how much longer is this cycle going to continue before something tangible gets done. I'm not saying healthcare should be totally free. I'm not saying that healthcare costs should destroy the middle class either. I definitely think that a for profit company priorities are to make a profit and answer to stockholders where does the patient come in on this equation. Car insurance is a hell of alot high up in Richmond than here and I want to save some much needed money. About a year ago my husband and I sold a car. We went through the usual channels with dealing with the plates, calling the insurance company and so on. Well today we got our yearly insurance cards in the mail and didn't recognize one of the cars they had given us a card for so I went over the statement. It turns out they have been billing us for insurance on a car we sold over a year ago. We never really noticed how much we should be paying in insurance for our cars and only get our statement once a year with these cars. We only pay $1504 a year for what we thought was two cars and I had assumed that was pretty good. In fact we were paying for three cars and an extra $663 a year on the car we sold. I haven't contacted the insurance company yet but my question is what are my options here? Will they give us the money back for the year we payed on a car we legally sold and what do they need, if any, proof of that? We have paperwork of the sale but no real proof we called them to inform them to take the car off the insurance. Will that we enough?

I'm 14 and I'm going to get this bike. It's legal for me to drive off road (trails) but if I wanted to drive on road I would have to get my license (16 months time). The reason I want this bike is because when I am 16 it's 50 miles a gallon, and for a small bike it goes highway speed. I understand that because I'm under 25 that it's going to be a lot and I don't own a credit card so I don't have bad credit. I would just like to know how much per year that it would cost. I was recently doing some quotes...I keep getting around $981*ish 6 month premium. I don't know, it's not that I couldn't afford that in the future it's that I'm hoping I can get it a bit cheaper...being that I drive 4 miles to school, will only drive it less then 2500 miles a year! 5 days a week.
